The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe

Click here to view The Raven poem.

The poem, "The Raven", is about a lonely and heartbroken man who is home alone reading books and attempting to forget about the loss of his love, Lenore.

While he is reading he hears a slight knocking at the door. He checks the door and doesn't see anybody there. Then he hears the same knocking sound and opens the door again. All of a sudden, a black raven flies into his home and sits on a sculpture in his room. He asks the raven tons of questions and the raven replies to each and every question, "Nevermore". Eventually, the man goes insane after hearing the raven recite that same word to every question he asks.
